Snowglobe Village

Pip and safety in the village

Pip is the mail elf of Snowglobe Village. He carries letters, postcards, hints and questions, and he writes them again in his own words, so your writing style is harder to recognize. Pip is an AI. This page says how that works, and what to do when something in the village feels wrong.

If something feels wrong, start here.

Who the village is for

You must be 18 or older to use the village.

If you think someone under 18 is using Snowglobe Village, please report it to privacy@snowglobevillage.com.

How Pip works

Pip is an AI, not a neighbor in the village. You hand him a letter, a postcard, a hint, a question for the village, or a reply. He tells it again in his own words.

Pip tries to keep your meaning, so a size, a book, a question or a link should come through. The way you phrase it mostly does not. That makes it harder for a giftee to guess their Santa from a favorite joke, and less likely that a hint gives away who left it. Pip can make mistakes, so check his version before you send it. He can't hide what you choose to say, either, so leave out details that point straight to you.

You see Pip's version before it goes. You can ask him to try again. If Pip is resting, your letter is saved and you can send it once he's back. Nothing is sent without him. When he did the rewriting, a small label says so. The label doesn't show your name, but what you write can still give you away. The people who run Snowglobe Village can see who sent each note.

If Pip can't retell a letter, it isn't sent.

If something feels wrong

A letter, a hint, a question or a reply might feel unkind, frightening, or simply out of place. You do not have to keep it to yourself.

A report button is on its way in the village, but it is not here yet. Until then, email privacy@snowglobevillage.com and tell us what felt wrong. We read this inbox, but we can't reply right away, so if you or someone else is in danger now, call 911 or one of the numbers below.

If you are unsafe right now, Pip cannot help. He only carries the mail. These people can:
